Fritz Glatz

Friedrich "Fritz" Glatz (21 July 1943 in Vienna, Austria - 14 July 2002 in Most, Czech Republic) was an Austrian racing driver. He often competed under aliases, such as "Pierre Chauvet", "Umberto Calvo", "Federico Careca" and "James Bald".

Glatz began his career in 1980 in the German Formula 3 championship. After progressing to European Formula 3 as well as Formula 2, in 1983, Glatz got his first taste of Formula One machinery, driving for ATS. After this, he returned to Formula 2 (later Formula 3000), alongside appearances in sportscar racing.

He died in 2002 after an accident in a EuroBOSS round at Autodrom Most, after his 1996-spec Footwork Oreca F96 bounced over a kerb and became airborne.
