Clockwork Racing is a motor racing team based in Chicago, Illinois. They field cars in the International Formula Reject Challenge, and despite their lack of success or experience, the team is highly motivated. They are known for their outlandish, almost ludicrous excuses for their various woes.

Clockwork Racing was the penultimate team to be selected for a grid spot in the series, reflected in their car numbers of 41 and 42. The team's initial press release claimed that they would try to innovate to beat the competition. "For a new series, we need some new talent and money in this series. Part of our strategy, as you can plainly see, is to try things no other team has tried before." team founder and boss I.M. Cooper said. "Part of our strategy is to blind the competition with the amount of bright orange on our cars. Hopefully this will cause them to spin off the track and give us a win, or spin off the track following us. Before you ask, no, we don't have much of a backup plan other than the name of the team and the color of the car being a not-so-clever homage to an awesome movie."

The team signed inexperienced driver Matt Brinson as their primary driver, largely due to his Englitch sponsorship and similarly quirky attitude. For a second driver, Clockwork Racing opted for Katie Lea Winter, who brought sponsorship from Lynxe.

Clockwork Racing's debut at Penrith was predictably lamentable, despite Matt Brinson performing well in heat 1 until he crashed in the pitlane. The team, however, refused to blame Brinson for his exit from Heat 1.

The team's other driver, Katie-Lea Winter, crashed in Heat 2 from what appeared to be a brake failure. According to Clockwork Racing, the reason both cars crashed out of their respective heats was; "someone made the computers run the 'ARCA' script once the brakes were applied, making all of our computers experience the Blue Screen of Death... yes, even the ones in the car".

Despite this setback, Brinson qualified for the final. The team insisted that Brinson would be ready for the final and that their pitlane computers would have Windows 3.1 reinstalled in time for the race.

During the final, Brinson jumped a curb and launched out of the track in a spectacular accident. Brinson's injuries from the crash would keep him out of the car for a few rounds. The team opted to replace Brinson with Geoff Donnelly, but kept Brinson's name on the car, indicating that they were determined to get him back in car #41.
