Charlie Darrell is an Australian former racing driver. He is known for finishing runner up to Frédéric-Maxime Voeckler in the 2001 Prost Grand Prix season, despite this he also earned the Reject of The Year award. Possibly due to the embarrasing fact that Voeckler only entered the championship after 4 rounds were complete. His AP01 run by Simon's Motorsport Team was often one of the fastest cars, taking 2 poles and 2 fastest laps but also frequently broke down, resulting in all of Charlie's finishes being wins or retirements. He lead the points fight until he went into the final round, where he needed atleast 3rd to have a chance of beating Voeckler. He collided with Ralf Alden in the first corner on lap 1 and lost a front wing, effectively ending his title hopes. He later retired with engine trouble. He did not return for the 2002 CART season.
