Robert K. "Bobby" Ball (born 26 August 1925 in Phoenix, Arizona, died 27 February 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona) was an American racing driver. A successful midget racer in his native Arizona, he made his AAA début in 1950 in Phoenix. In 1951, he was one of the few drivers to race in the Indianapolis 500 despite the American boycott of the race, finishing 11th. Converting this into a drive with Blakely Oil, he scored multiple podiums in 1952, including a win in San Jose, securing 8th place in the championship. Tragically, in January 1953, he suffered severe head injuries in a crash in Los Angeles. Ball never awoke from his coma and died at his home 13 months later. He was 28.
