Karting and Formula Ford (2006-2013)
Hawkin began his motorsport career as many other young drivers do, entering into the fiercely competitive world of karting in 2006, aged 7, and having won a number of races and featured prominently, he was picked up by Sammy Jones who offered to assist Hawkin with a step up to Formula Ford at the end of 2011. Two successful years in Formula Ford followed, with race wins and 2nd place in the 2013 championship resulting in Jones immediately promoting the young Englishman into the first seat of his newly-created Jones Racing F3RWRS team for 2014.

2014 Season - Success in both F2RWRS and F3RWRS
+
2014 would be something of a baptism of fire for Hawkin. He was partnered with Belgian Eric Swerts at Jones Racing and following two steady weekends, the Briton found himself called up to replace Laurent Seron in F2RWRS. Seron had been injured in a horrifying accident at the first race of the F2RWRS season at Turkey and while Seron's boss Tony Gillet was initially going to promote Swerts, the Belgian's underwhelming start to the F3RWRS season meant Gillet gave the nod to Hawkin to make the step up instead. Terry would subsequently drive for the Gillet team for the next four races until Seron had returned to fitness, and in that time surprised everyone with two third place finishes, and retired while on course for victory in Britain. The spell in F2RWRS meant Hawkin had missed the F3RWRS British round at Brands Hatch, but he returned for the remaining four rounds of the season. After a superb weekend in Germany, Hawkin was offered the chance to return to F2RWRS with Scuderia Jones Italia and he took it, deciding to dovetail the two series for the remainder of the year. A long break in the F3RWRS schedule was filled with four F2RWRS races for Hawkin in which he claimed two further third place finishes. From there, Hawkin was replaced by Irishman Connor O'Heagan so that Terry remained eligible for the final two F3RWRS rounds. A messy weekend in China meant the title was all but out of Hawkin's hands at the final race at Surfers Paradise but he took the win nonetheless and finished second overall in the championship, two points behind winner Tomo Kazama. With F3RWRS done, Hawkin could return to F2RWRS for the final race on the calender, the FedEx 100 which he won in emphatic fashion as part of a Jones Italia 1-2 finish with Marco Bizzarri in second place. Following his impressive performances, Hawkin was rewarded with appearances at the two F1RWRS non-championship races at the end of 2014. At the World 800 he finished third in a Jones 1-2-3 but retired from the Luxembourg GP.
Starting off driving in the 2014 season, Terry was partnered with Belgian Eric Swerts and at the first round of the year at Adelaide, drove solidly all weekend, securing two 4th place finishes. A more average weekend followed at Laguna Seca, with a best result of 7th over the three races for the Englishman.

After only two races in the F3RWRS however, Hawkin was called up to the F2RWRS to replace Laurent Seron who had been injured in a horrifying accident between himself and Andrej Kremnicky at the first race of the season at Turkey. Seron's boss Tony Gillet was initially going to promote Eric Swerts, but due to the Belgian having an underwhelming start to the F3RWRS season, Gillet gave the nod to Hawkin to make the step up to the next category. Terry would subsequently drive for the Gillet team for the next four races until Seron had returned to fitness.
+
With nothing left to prove in F3RWRS, Sammy Jones took the decision to immediately promote Hawkin into his new F2RWRS team for 2015. In a much more straightforward year for Terry he was able to settle into the series with no distractions but failed to cause as much of a stir as in 2014. Nevertheless he achieved a string of points finishes, highlighted by third places in South Africa and Holland, and a second win in the series, this time in Belgium. Ironically, despite it being his first full year in the championship, Hawkin finished one place lower, seventh, than he did in 2014 when he finished sixth overall. In his second appearance at the World 800 non-championship F1RWRS race Terry couldn't replicate his 2014 form and would retire from the race. Going into 2016, the initial anticipation was for Hawkin to stay in F2RWRS for another year and launch a proper title assault, but following rule changes in the off-season, Jones moved his protege across to the International Formula Reject Challenge for 2016 which appeared to be a better prospect. The decision proved to be a shrewd one as despite a slow start, with no points until the sixth race, Hawkin was then off the podium on just four occasions for the remainder of the season. With a total of six wins and 163 points, he sealed the title in style, his first ever championship victory in his career.

His first race came at the daunting Monaco street circuit where having qualified an excellent 5th, Hawkin ran well in the race before damaging his car whilst pressuring Tommy Nash for the minor points placings, forcing him to retire. It was a bitter way to end the weekend, but Terry had shown his potential, and this was realised at the very next race at Magny Cours where he qualified 7th and then in the heavy rain drove superbly to finish on the podium in 3rd place. It was a dream come true for Hawkin who'd only been competing in Formula Ford a year previously. Heartbreak struck at the next round, Hawkin's home race, however when he retired only 4 laps from the end whilst leading and on course for victory. At his final race for Gillet standing in for Seron, Hawkin again drove an excellent race to clinch another 3rd place finish, despite being unable to keep up with eventual race winner Alberto Cara who's faster car allowed him to race a one-stop strategy to Hawkin's two. With Laurent Seron having recovered from his injuries in time for the German F2RWRS race, Hawkin departed Gillet returned to the F3RWRS and Jones Racing.
+
Following his success, Hawkin was keen to make the step up to the premier class in 2017, but Jones felt it was too soon and moved him back into F2RWRS which had resolved its problems and presented an attractive prospect for young drivers once again. Alongside fellow talent Nick Nurmester, Hawkin enjoyed another successful year but was ultimately beaten into third place overall by Nurmester and eventual champion Dan Greenlaw. There were still two wins, in Austria and at the North Sea GP, on top of a number of other podium finishes, but it wasn't the result Hawkin wanted. Despite missing out on the championship, it was clear he had achieved everything he could in the lower formulae, but with no space at Jones' ARWS team, a spot was found at the up-and-coming Fusion team, going into their second season.

Having missed the F3RWRS British round at Brands Hatch, Hawkin returned to the series in time for the fourth round in Germany. The experience he'd gained from the F2RWRS showed immediately, as the young Brit took pole, before winning the first and third races and coming second in the second race. He took fastest lap in all three en route to the round victory overall. This superb weekend set Hawkin up for the championship, as he contended with Jack Christopherson Jr, Michael Cameron and Tomo Kazama. At the next race in Belgium, Hawkin made an enormous gamble, taking up the spot at the newly created Scuderia Jones Italia in the F2RWRS, which had been formed from the ashes of the Trueba Junior Team. At the same time, he intended to stay on in the F3RWRS and dovetail the two series for the rest of the year. Another podium followed in the F3RWRS, but retirement in the F2RWRS suggested he might have made the wrong decision.

ARWS career
 +
Fusion (2018-present)
 +
Hawkin made his debut in ARWS at the age of nineteen, but on the back of his impressive junior category career he was expected to do well. Signed to the Fusion team as there was no room at Jones, Hawkin surpassed all of the expectations placed upon him as he won four of the first seven races of the year. The Fusion car proved to be one of the best in the field, with Hawkin's main opposition coming from the two MRT drivers of Phillippe Nicolas and Alberto Cara. Following the Moroccan GP, Sammy Jones severed all ties with Hawkin after the two were involved in a very public spat relating to on-track incidents between Jones driver Mark Dagnall and Fusion drivers Hawkin and Fredo Mestolio. With Jones out of the picture, it meant Hawkin would manage his own affairs from this point on.

It didn't deter him however as a long break in the F3RWRS before it's penultimate round in China allowed Hawkin to focus on the next four F2RWRS races for Jones Italia, which brought him two more 3rd places in Hungary and Portugal and another points finish in 8th at Italy. From there, Hawkin was replaced by Irishman Connor O'Heagan so that Terry remained eligible for the final two F3RWRS rounds. The first of these, in China, proved to be the worst of the season for the Englishman. A 4th place in race 1 was followed by a clash with Max Torbani in race 2 which saw the Italian punt Hawkin off the road and force him out of race 3. It meant that despite the double points on offer at the final race at Surfers Paradise, the title was all but out of Hawkin's hands. Nevertheless it didn't deter him, and from the start Terry looked on the pace. Despite missing out on the pole, Hawkin quickly moved into the lead of the race, and from there controlled it, overtaking the one-stopping Dorien Lamberigts near the end to seal the victory, his third of the series, as well as the fastest lap, leaving him second overall in the championship, only two points behind champion Kazama. It was a superb way to end the year for the young Brit, although his season still wasn't over. The final race on the F2RWRS calender, the FedEx 100, gave Hawkin one last chance to win an F2RWRS race in 2014. This he did in emphatic fashion as the Jones Italia team took a superb 1-2 finish with Marco Bizzarri in second place, avoiding the carnage that took out the majority of the field over the course of the race. Having lined up second on the grid though, Hawkin was able to stay out in front and out of trouble, and with his success in the F3RWRS as well, he ended the year in style.

Hawkin has been viewed by some as Sammy Jones' protege, and there is wide-spread speculation that should Hawkin continue to prove himself in the lower categories, he will eventually replace Jones at his own team in the F1RWRS.

Terry Hawkin (born 1st September 1998 in Southend-on-Sea, England) is an English racing driver, currently driving for Coca Cola Fusion Infiniti in the 2018 ARWS season.

Early career

F3RWRS, F2RWRS and IFRC (2014-2017)

ARWS career

Fusion (2018-present)
