The 2002 BRDC 3000 Championship was the first season of the of BRDC 3000 Championship, established by the BRDC as an attempt to relaunch the once-popular British Formula 3000 series, with the added draw of famous manufacturers Aston Martin and Jaguar. It also included experimental rounds at Rockingham Motor Speedway and Goodwood.
Calendar
The BRDC 3000 Championship had a ten-race Championship for its inaugural season: those rounds that were particularly unique for some reason were the Brooklands Memorial Trophy (on the banked oval circuit at Rockingham), the Tuscan Grand Prix (held outside the United Kingdom at Mugello) and the Glover Trophy (held at the historic Goodwood Circuit in a head-to-head time trial format).
