Martin John Brundle (born 1st June, 1959 in King's Lynn, Norfolk) is a British racing driver and broadcaster known for his appearances in Formula One.

Formula One

1987-1988: Tyrrell

Brundle signed a two year deal with Data General Team Tyrrell in 1987, partnering fellow Briton Jonathan Palmer. His first few races for the team were complete busts, finishing well down the order - but he'd score his first point of the season in the Monaco Grand Prix. This result buoyed Brundle on to improve the Tyrrell further, and the car was a frequent fixture in the top 10 from that point onwards - even managing a third place in the German Grand Prix for his determination.

Brundle took a further third place the following season at the Italian Grand Prix, as well as a fifth place in Japan.

1989-1990: Williams & AGS

At the end of 1988, Brundle found himself out of a race drive at Tyrrell - so he accepted an offer from the Canon Williams Honda Team to become their reserve and test driver for 1989.

However, Brundle made his return to the grid at the Soviet Grand Prix - after small French team AGS solicited him to replace the underperforming Olivier Grouillard for the rest of the season.

Brundle was not retained by the French team so he returned to the Williams test spot in 1990.
