Verna Freida Klien (born 4 September 1995 in Vienna, Austria) is an Austrian racing driver and a member of the Peak Motorsport Group.

Klien is known as a motorsport journeywoman, willing to drive for anyone no matter how uncompetitive they are. She was reportedly being considered for a drive at Dofasco before the team collapsed half-way through the 2016 season.

Career

Klien entered the Austrian, Swiss, and German karting series in her younger years. It was in Switzerland that she competed against Alvin Ziegler and was noticed by then-team principal of Peak, Dominic Spearman.

Klien competed in the last three rounds of the 2016 International Formula Reject Challenge for Japanese team Takagi Racing Enterprises. She qualified for all three finals and finished tenth in the Japanese final, a point-scoring position.

She has also competed in an F1RSTC race, finishing 15th in the 2016 Round of Great Britain after replacing Alvin Ziegler due to a schedule clash.

Klien stayed in the IFRC as it underwent a change to AR3.5 for 2017, moving to American-based Clockwork Racing.

Personal life

Verna was born to Josef and Freida Klien.

She has been romantically linked to fellow PMG associate Alvin Ziegler.
