Michael Bartels (born 8th March, 1968 in Plettenberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen, West Germany) is a German racing driver.
After a year in F3000, Bartels joined Formula One when he signed for Rial in 1991 - sharing the lead car with fellow German Bernd Schneider who was otherwise occupied in the WTCM series with Opel. As it would happen, Bartels would also sign a deal to drive in the WTCM series midway through the 1991 season with independent Opel team Autosport Mannschaft Gelsenkirchen.
