Formula One

2005-: Red Bull

After an impressive F3000 campaign saw Liuzzi courted by Ferrari and Sauber, Liuzzi decided to sign with the newly-formed Red Bull Racing team alongside veteran Scot David Coulthard. Liuzzi took a sixth place finish in his second Grand Prix in Malaysia but struggled for much of the early stages of the season.

2011: Super Aguri

Liuzzi made a brief return to the grid in 2011, replacing Rubens Barrichello for a round at the Turkish Grand Prix when the Brazilian was excluded. He finished the race in nineteenth.

2012: McLaren

Vodafone McLaren Honda came calling in 2012, with Liuzzi seen as a inexpensive yet reliable backup to the team leader Sebastian Vettel. Liuzzi had a number of podiums, finishing in second on three occasions - but this was not enough to keep him employed by McLaren and he was replaced at the end of the season - bringing his F1 career to a close.

Endurance racing

Liuzzi resurfaced in the 2019 FIA Endurance Challenge season with the ByKolles Racing team in the top prototype class. He was joined by Deividas Lukauskis, Josef Kral, Christian Klien and Adrian Sutil in the #4 car.
