Takao Wada

Takao Wada (born 24th June, 1953 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese former racing driver.

Wada was a fairly prolific single-seater racer in Asia in the 1970s and early 1980s - winning the Formula Pacific series in 1979 as well as coming third in the Macau Grand Prix in 1983. Wada switched to touring car racing in the mid 1980s and won the Japanese Touring Car Championship in 1986 for Nissan.

Wada entered and won the 1989 Tooheys 1000 - the final race of the 1989 World Touring Car Masters season - for NISMO alongside fellow Japanese driver Keiichi Tsuchiya.

Wada made the full time switch into the WTCM series in 1990 with Nissan - racing the R32 Skyline alongside Naoki Nagasaka, Masahiro Hasemi and Roland Asch.
