Sakon Yamamoto (born 9th July, 1982 in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese racing driver best known for his appearances in Formula One.
Yamamoto made his Formula One race debut midway through the 2009 season after being promoted into the Super Aguri race seat after Daisuke Itō was was dropped early on. Yamamoto debuted at the Turkish Grand Prix and remained in the seat until the Hungarian Grand Prix, when he was replaced by Sammarinese driver Andrea Acuri for the rest of the season.
Yamamoto was signed by new team Campos Meta 1 for the 2010 season as a reserve driver. Yamamoto was called upon on one occasion in Hungary when Nathan McKane was banned for multiple incidents.
