Ryan McReynolds (born September 22nd, 1992) is a Canadian racing driver known for his career in the F1 Rejects Indy Championship Series.

Career

Early Career

Ryan was born into a family of racing fans. His father, Greg, attempted to get into racing but never made it past karts due to a lack of results, instead winding up founding his own software development company. He did, however, instill his love of motorsports into Ryan from a young age, and he began karting from the age of 6. After winning many accolades both in his native Canada and in the United States, Ryan moved up to the US F2000 series for 2010, which he dominated, before moving on to Star Mazda in 2011, where he won 9 of the 11 races and finished 3rd in the other 2, prompting a move up to Indy Lights for 2012. He won 6 races, including the last 5 in a row, in addition to the title, and seemed set to move up to the IndyCar Series for 2013.

However, in January that year, Ryan was involved in a serious traffic accident on the icy roads near his home, which left him unable to race for most of the season. He opted not to chase down a ride in either the IndyCar Series or the new-for-2014 Formula One Rejects Big Car Championship, as he believed the future of both championships were too uncertain. Ryan instead raced in the United SportsCar Racing series in it's inaugural 2014 season, where he raced a DeltaWing in the Prototype category, winning 4 races and finished a narrow 2nd in the championship. Towards the end of 2014, the IndyCar Series and F1RBCC were consolidated by Walter Williams into the F1 Rejects Indy Championship Series. This attracted the attention of Ryan, and he got in negotiations with the only IndyCar Series team to survive 2014 unscathed, Cassidy Racing, eventually signing for them for 2015.

2015

Cassidy Racing opted for an unorthodox Panoz-Toyota combination to begin the 2015 season, and this immediately paid off dividends as it allowed Ryan to showcase his immense speed from the very first pre-season test session. However, Ryan also found the car difficult to set up and control, and while he quickly took 3 poles from the first 4 races, he struggled to be as consistent with actually finishing the races. Cassidy Racing also fell behind in development midway through the season, persisting with the Panoz-Toyota combination even when it became clear that it was simply not going to match the bigger manufacturers, though it was still able to be enough to grant Ryan his first F1RICS victory in Japan, in a close-fought battle with Lance Vance. This did not prevent Ryan from becoming frustrated at the team, and he left at the end of the year, signing to drive for Michael Bright Racing for 2016.

Ryan's performances were not unnoticed, however, and he was granted a place on the Canadian team in the Formula 1 Rejects Nations Cup. In his first race there, he once again showed off his impressive speed, running as high as 2nd before his car failed. He also managed to secure a drive in the revived Street Racing League in the off-season, racing for Mattias Kjellerup Racing.

2016

For 2016, Ryan will compete in F1RICS with Avis Michael Bright Racing.
