Richard Arthurs

Richard Branson Arthurs (born 15 June 1965 in London) is a British racing driver, the younger and less experienced brother of Christopher Arthurs.

Life GP

1991

Arthurs drove alongside his brother for the first two races of 1991, before being injured in a high-speed accident at Jarama, rendering him unfit to race. He was replaced by German Joachim Dumm for the French Grand Prix. Dumm lived up to his name (translated to "Stupid") by colliding with Michael Balzary, and earning himself a two-race ban. He was to replaced for the rest of the season by lady driver Rachel Graham, though.

1993

Arthurs came back to the series in 1993, after spending 1992 on the sidelines, for the High-Tech Motorsport Technology Racing Team, and scored his first points in the infamous Irish Grand Prix, and his first podium in Germany. However, his suspended one-race ban from the US GP was enforced after he collided with Marky Howard in Germany. He was substituted for by the team's 1992 driver Shigeru Hashimoto for the Polish round. Hashimoto would later drive the car at the Japanese GP for sponsorship reasons.

Arthurs' last race came at the NZ Grand Prix, where he retired.
