2018- Group B Rallycross
2018
After many years competing successfully in club-level rally and rallycross events in his native Brazil and Argentina, Poole was talent spotted by Aeroracing Engineering, who signed the then-26 year old Brazilian to spearhead their Group B Rallycross campaign, joining the even younger Greek Helios Nicolau at the Audi-supported team.
It was a difficult season for both Aeroracing Audi and Poole himself, with the team scoring just 9 points over the course of the season to finish the season 16th overall (7th of the 8 Manufacturer entries), with all the team's points scored in the first two rounds. Poole only scored only two of these points, both coming from third places in Quarter-Finals (at the US and German rounds), being generally outperformed by his younger teammate all year. Both however were sacked from Aeroracing at the end of the year, as the team (undergoing a management overhaul) pulled out of rallycross competition, leaving both drivers without a drive and without managers for 2019.
2019
Having to resort to finding a drive using the Free Agency program for 2019, Poole was handed a career lifeline when Larsen Racing System made a last-minute entry into the Group B Rallycross championship. Having entered so late into the pre-season, there were few experienced drivers available on the market for the Opel-backed team, and so Poole was signed initially as lead driver to partner the young Frenchman Jean-Phillipe Fournier and team owner Andreas Larsen. It soon became clear however that Poole's signing had in fact been a contingency plan for the team as they attempted to strike a deal to release the more highly-regarded Christian Poulsen from his contract with the defunct Kiwi Racing outfit to lead the team, and indeed once Poulsen was signed, Poole was demoted to the third car, replacing Larsen, although it was at least still a full-time, manufacturer-entered seat.
