Geoffrey Ernest Duke OBE (born 29 March 1923 in St. Helens, died 1 May 2015 on the Isle of Man) was a British world champion Grand Prix motorcycle racer. Duke is best-known for winning six world motorcycling titles in the 350cc and 500cc categories. He also followed fellow two-wheel champions Nello Pagani, Reg Armstrong and John Surtees by competing in Formula One, competing in the 1955 Soviet Grand Prix replacing Bob Sweikert. Unfortunately, the qualifying session was stopped early and Duke was one of many drivers who did not set a time.
