Dominic Racing Team

Dominic Racing Team was a German racing team that competed in DTM and Prost GP Series. The team was managed by German Dominic Hermann during its years of existence.

History

Dominic Hermann, a German businessman of slight American descent, originally founded the team as a Formula 3000 team between 1997 and 2000. The results were disappointing and he shut it down in favor of the resurrected DTM.

With Opel and their drivers Laurent Aiello and Timo Schnider on board, the team was able to win the season as a team. Schnider also won the driver's title. The team did not win the driver's title the following year, but they won teams' championship again. Things went downhill when the team did not win either titles in 2002, leading to Hermann parting ways with Opel and joining forces with Subaru instead, using their brand-new Legacy, signing Subaru's works drivers Perry McCarthy and Hideki Noda, both F1 rejects. With Blokkmonsta Motorsport also opting to use Subaru Legacies too, the results are going stronger.

On the back on the team's DTM 2000 champion, the team ventured to Prost GP Series, initially fielding Robert Anderson before changing to various American drivers when Anderson was accused of being involved in a local robbery case (Anderson was later acquitted from the robbery incident). The series lasted only a year.

After some other ventures, Hermann finally shut down the team in 2008 after worldwide economic crises. He controversially sold the team asset to Mecha Grand Prix's after he was appointed the team manager of the said team in early 2015.
