Carmen Álvarez Torrente
Carmen Álvarez Torrente (born 15th November, 2000 in Granada, Spain) is a Spanish racer currently contracted to Astro Racing Stars. She is the younger sister of F1RWRS driver Diego Álvarez Torrente and F3RWRS driver Jorge Álvarez Torrente. She is the current reserve driver for the Nebula Formula Female World Championship team.
Early Life
Carmen was born to José Álvarez, a former racing driver, and Ximena, a store manager in Granada. After seeing her brothers Diego and Jorge make names for themselves in the karting scene, Carmen felt that she could also follow suit. She created a reputation in her native Andalusia for having uncompromising speed in karting, and joined the Astro Racing Stars program after rave reviews from her two brothers.
2017: Formula Female & AR2.0NA
With the creation of the Formula Female World Championship, Torrente found her way into single seaters with a reserve role for Nebula Grand Prix. The team had signed former IFRC driver Katie Lea Winter and daughter of IndyCar legend Brendon Cassidy Sr. Karen Cassidy.
To supplement her reserve role, Torrente also joined the new AR2.0NA series with Hunter-Maple Racing.
