Bill Patterson

Gerald William Riggall "Bill" Patterson (born 30 August 1923 in Melbourne, died 10 January 2010 in Melbourne) was an Australian racing driver. He began his carer shortly after the second World War, competing in hillclimbs. He began to import Coopers, and as he gained experience, he won the 1957 Australian Grand Prix and the 1961 Australian Drivers' Championship. He also entered the 1955 Singapore Grand Prix. Retiring from driving in 1964, he became a team owner and remained in the sport until the 2000s.
