Gabriel Château (born 14th February, 1952 in Mont-près-Chambord, France) is a French former racing driver known for his appearances in Formula One.

Racing Career

In 1976, Château entered the Oulton Park Gold Cup with British squad Melchester Racing. An oil leak saw him retire from the race.

1977-1978: North Star Racing & Iberia Airlines

Château was set to make his full Formula One debut at the 1977 French Grand Prix with the beleaguered North Star Racing team, but the team opted to stick with William Ferguson at the last minute.

Château would then make a switch to Spanish team Iberia Airlines from the British Grand Prix for the rest of the European season, replacing the departing Tony Trimmer.

Château remained with Emilio de Villota's team for 1978.
