Revision as of 02:58, 18 November 2012

The second season of the Formula One Rejects Microprose Grand Prix Women's European Cup is held in 2015, on the European circuits featured in the 2015 F1RMGP season.

The defending Drivers' Champion was Vanina Ickx and the defending Teams' Champions were Scuderia Minardivas, both of whom returned to contest this season, though not together...

Calendar

With the expansion of the Main Series calendar to 18 rounds, the WEC has also expanded to 12 rounds, dropping the "flag of convenience" races at Imola and Barcelona, run under the flags of San Marino and Andorra in 2014, and gaining new rounds in the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria. Pre-season testing was held at Imola on 5/7/9 May.

As per the 2014 season, qualifying for the WEC is held on the Thursday of each race weekend, and the race on the Friday.

Entrants

The field consisted of 14 teams, all entering two cars. Though teams enter this series on a year-by-year basis, presence in one season being no guarantee of participation the next, but most of the field is not exactly unfamiliar:

  • Scuderia Minardivas and Super Reppu! have both returned for a second season - even if both have had to change cars from what their names implied (to Forti and Dome respectively).
  • Scuderia Alitaliana is another branch of the Il Barone Rampante empire, overseeing two teams in the Main Series.
  • West Cliff and Psycho Soldiers entered teams for the 2014 Bathurst Enduro.
  • Plus One unsuccessfully tried to apply for one of the vacant slots in this year's Main Series.
  • There was a Team Australia that tried to enter the Main Series for 2014, but this may or may not be the same one...
  • Autodynamics, Rosenforth and JLD are well known from the Formula One Rejects World Race Series.
