Adrian Sutil (born 11th January, 1983 in Starnberg, West Germany) is a German racing driver best known for his appearances in Formula One.

Formula One

2007: Spyker

After spending 2006 as one of the team's three test drivers, Sutil made his debut for the Dutch Spyker team in 2007. Due to the team's low budget the car was uncompetitive and Sutil finished the season without scoring any points, with a best finish of 14th place achieved three times.

2008-2010: Force India

As Spyker was bought by Indian businessman Vijay Mallya and renamed Force India going into 2008, Sutil remained at the team and was joined by 2001 world champion Ralf Schumacher. Due to the team's car being simply an updated version of the previous team's Spyker, Force India were again uncompetitive and Sutil finished the season pointless again, although he easily had the upper hand of his world champion teammate and frequently outqualified and outraced Schumacher.

Sutil would remain at the team in 2009, being joined initially by Jarno Trulli, before the Italian was replaced by Canadian Bruno Spengler at the Italian Grand Prix. The VJM02 was initially unremarkable, Sutil only scoring his first points finish at the Belgian Grand Prix with an 8th place finish. However, at the following race in Italy, the German would shine; qualifying on pole, setting the fastest lap and scoring a sensational victory, with his teammate following him to give the team a very remarkable 1-2 finish. This sparked a wave of performance for the team, with Sutil managing to consistently finish in the points in the remaining races of the season to score 30 of them and to finish 12th in that year's championship.

The duo were kept for the 2010 season, where by this point Force India had become a solid midfield team. Sutil would consistently finish in the points, and even managed to get a podium by finishing 2nd at the Korean Grand Prix, which all took him to 11th in the championship with 93 points.

Despite this relative success, Sutil was replaced heading into 2011 season by Nicolás Fontana - the German not bringing enough in sponsorship money.
