Jean Marie Behra (born 16 February 1921 in Nice, died 1 August 1959 in Berlin, Germany) was a French racing driver. A successful motorcycle racer and rower, he switched to cars in 1951, making his F1 début that same year. Initially unsuccessful with abortive entries in 1952, he returned full-time in 1954 for Ultimate, then for Porsche, without success. After brief stints with BRM and Scuderia Centro Sud in 1956, he failed to find a drive.
Behra was killed in an accident in a sportscar race on the AVUS circuit when his Porsche left the steep banking and Behra struck a flagpole. He was 38 years old.
