Report:

McKane defended the pole at first, however, it was the man behind him who won.

Nathan McKane was disappointed to miss out on pole position yesterday, a disappointment he removed during qualifying for the second round of this weekend and the final F1 race at Donington Park for the time being. He started on pole position and secured FLAP, but since a win was denied to him by Sebastian Vettel, who is on his way to redefining his amazing legacy, he is still disappointed.

After an early race had McKane in the lead, he had both Caterhams behind him. While he managed to shake Daniil Kvyat, a daring move by Vettel propelled the German to the lead. He refused to hand his lead over for the rest of the race and went on to take the 7th win of this season and yet again extending his lead in the world championship, making any hopes of stopping him die slowly.

Meanwhile, Haas-Ferrari have scored a major triumph, as they have passed Sauber in the world championship for good. They were even able to contain the weaker of the two Ferraris today, this weekend puts them into a great situation, just as it does for Precision, who now are looking very good in the fight against Williams, and Mahindra, who scored another points finish today, despite Conor Daly having a terrible race.

Regrettably, some good races tend to get overshadowed: Nico Rosberg’s reasonable job, a crucial place in the fight against Calinetic, was ruined for Brabham, as Nyck de Vries lost control of the car and hit the wall at high speed, spraining his ankle in the process. Brabham will be slightly less disappointed than Sauber and Red Bull though, who had miserable days.

Fastest Lap:

Nathan McKane – 1:02.620

Infinite Improbability Drive Of The Race:

Nico Rosberg – Came close to giving Brabham a well-needed boost, still a good, if subtle, run.

Reject Of The Race:

Conor Daly – Had a very unintelligent race out there, needs to do better if he wants to beat Ricciardo for real.
