Report:

Even proven race winners such as Kevin Magnussen got in trouble when the rain arrived.

Even during the Saturday race, all the talk in the paddock at Enna-Pergusa was the possible threat of rain predicted to arrive on Sunday. Every F1 fan knows that rain makes things exciting and every F1 driver knows driving in wet conditions is a brutal challenge to his or her skils, so everyone watched the heavens carefully.

However, there was still a race to be had and in the emphatically dry qualifying session, it was Dave Cassidy who had the edge. Precision-Mercedes were hoping to take the fight to their big rivals, but Caterham denied those dreams by having Hamilton and later in the race Vettel pass the American, setting up another 1-2.

However, the rain arrived and it did so extremely powerful. Hamilton got caught out when he had to choose to do another lap or run into the pitwall. This enabled Vettel to take the lead after Lewis had made it to the pits. Jules Bianchi on the other hand, willingly stayed out until the last minute, losing time and valueable championship points.

While Kevin Magnussen dropped down the order due to a spin, Miccoli was there to get 555 DGNgineering valueable points. Behind him, Valterri Bottas and Pastor Maldonado came through and finished inside the top 6. A valueable point was achieved by Pierre Gasly, after making his way past Scott Dixon, who also had a great race.
