Piero Carini (born 6 March 1921 in Genoa, died 30 May 1957 in Saint-Etienne, France) was an Italian racing driver. A very talented touring car, sportscar and Formula 2 who racked up numerous class wins in high-profile races such as the Targa Florio, Carini's only stab at Formula 1 came in 1952, when he drove for Scuderia Aqua in Monaco and Italy. He failed to prequalify both times, although he nearly made the main qualifying session in Monza. He decided not to stay in 1953 and returned to sportscars. He was killed in a vicious accident in the 1957 6 Hours of Forez when his car crossed a central divide and collided head-on with another car coming in the opposite direction. Both Carini and the other driver, António Borges Barreto, were killed instantly.
