Jean-Marie Brussin was a French amateur racing driver who took part in both Formula One and sportscar events under the pseudonym "Mary". He was tragically killed during the 1958 Le Mans 24 hours, when he spun the Jaguar D-Type he was sharing with André Guelfi in the wet at the Dunlop Curve, being ejected from the car. The Jaguar was then struck by the Ferrari of Bruce Kessler causing both cars to burst into flames. Brussin perished immediately whereas Kessler sustained extensive burns.
