Team Phoenix was a Spanish motorsport team run by Phoenix McAllister, primarily famous for its F1RWRS outfit which existed for a total of four seasons. Later on in its life, Team Phoenix also competed in the F2RWRS as the Red Bull Rising Ashes F2RWRS Team and as Team Phoenix in the F3RWRS.

In late 2014, McAllister relocated and re-branded his team, and as such from 2015 onwards, it became known as Aeroracing Engineering.

Origins and Formation

Phoenix McAllister, a well-known former F1 driver had joined the F1RWRS in its debut year of 2010, driving for Team Calinetic. He partnered eventual champion Gary Cameron that year, but was unable to match Gary's results, which ultimately cost Calinetic the Constructors' Championship to Prospec. Consequently, feeling that Calinetic had treated him unfairly, McAllister left the team and instead signed for Rosenforth Engineering for the 2011 season. Phoenix failed to settle in at Rosenforth though, despite some initial good results and quit the team following the Belgian GP, the fifth race of the year.

In response to his unhappiness at Rosenforth, McAllister quickly established his own team to allow him to compete at the following British Grand Prix, sourcing the chassis and spares for the failed KQ Motor Sports entry for 2011, renaming it the Phoenix PP1, and buying year-old Porsche engines that the JLD team had used in 2010. The resulting package was unrefined, and under-developed, but the foundations for Team Phoenix had been laid.

The Phoenix TWR02 when launched, driven by both McAllister and Mori in 2012 until the latter's firing following the disaster in Japan.
