Steven Mackintosh, (born February 19, 1995 in Scotland), is a Scottish F1RWRS driver currently driving for Mecha Grand Prix, having intially driving for, and part of, Mitie Aviation Racing.

Career

Mackintosh entered British F3 in 2011 and he debuted for the Aston Racing (now defunct). The team were regarded as the 'Minardi' of British F3, having gone their first three seasons without scoring any points and failing to even qualify for most races. The following year, however, the team picked up the new Zetec engine. Along with a heavily designed Reynard chassis, the team were expected to make a big step forward. Stephen Mackintosh took full advantage of the machinery at his disposal, qualifying for every race and scoring points in only his second start, 8th at Oulton Park. The team still struggled to make the grid with the other car, but Steven's skill shone through. The 9th and 10th races at Silverstone brought Steven his first podium (3rd) and then his first win. He finished the season in a creditable 11th place, after scoring further points at Brands Hatch (5th) and Rockingham (7th).

For 2013, he joined forces with Mitie Aviation Racing, and picked up three wins early on to lead the championship. Unfortunately, a heavy crash at Thruxton in Round 6 resulted in a broken ankle, causing him to miss three races. Despite this, in Round 10 at Silverstone, he showed no speed had been lost, claiming fastest lap on the way to a morale-boosting 4th. Two retirements in the next two races dented his title ambitions though, and he could only pick up two more points at the final event at Snetterton. Despite an up-and-down season, he finished the year in 5th place.

Steven followed Mitie in as they entered F1RWRS in 2014. He entered in the third and fourth races, but he failed to pre-qualify in both races. He left the team, but remained as their test driver. Later, fellow pre-qualifying member of F1RWRS, Mecha Grand Prix, who has just fired Saudi driver Saeed Al Faisal because of his hoplessness, signed Mackintosh after protacted negotiations. He gave the team their first escape from prequalifying and start (team-mate James Davies sadly failed to qualify) in Belgian Grand Prix but did not survive the race that long. Although he struggled to qualify the car since then, Mecha retained him for 2015, finishing ninth in Monaco in process.

He also participated in 2014 F1RMGP 24 Hour V8 Bathurst Enduro with Pac Racing Club. Together with Rejects of LFS driver Hiroto Tojo and F1 driver Timo Glock, Mackintosh drove strongly in that endurance race, but the team's race ended after Glock crashed the car after 10 hours.
