Formula One

Rookie Racing is a Formula One team owned by Toyota Motor Corporation president Akio Toyoda and based in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The team also competes in the Pacific Endurance Series, Super GT (GT500), Super Taikyu and Super Formula Lights.

Rookie Racing's Formula One program is the successor of BR Mansell after the international sanctions following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine forced businessman Boris Rotenberg to sell the team; it was purchased by Akio Toyoda due to the existing (and successful) engine supplier deal between BR Mansell and Toyota. It participated in two rounds of the 2022 season, essentially as a temporary rebrand of BR Mansell due to these sanctions, before making its full-time F1 debut in 2023.
