Rodger M. Ward (born 10 January 1921 in Beloit, Kansas, died 5 July 2004 in Anaheim, California) was an American racing driver who won the Indianapolis 500 and USAC National Championship in 1959 and 1962. Competing in the championship from 1950 to 1966, he won 26 races and scored 47 podiums. He is considered an F1 driver, as his first Indianapolis 500 entry was in 1951, going against the mass-boycott from American teams. Lacking in mechanical experience, he finished second-last, 30 laps back. He later went on to record one of the best ever Indianapolis five-year streaks of all time, and is considered one of the best Indianapolis drivers ever.
