Pierre St. Laurent (born 22nd February, 1999) is a Canadian racing driver currently competing in the AutoReject 2.0 Championship.

Early Life

St. Laurent was born and raised in the Canadian city of Shawinigan, Quebec. Having been brought up on accounts of the legendary Grand Prix driver, Gilles Villeneuve, the young Canadian resolved to follow in the footsteps of his esteemed predecessor. Despite the financial circumstances of his family, St. Laurent managed to convince his parents to purchase a dilapidated go-kart from the local scrapyard, and subsequently began competing in local karting events at the age of nine.

St. Laurent immediately met with success, beating out more experienced drivers in far superior equipment in his just his first year. Now well-backed by several corporate sponsors, St. Laurent dominated various regional and national karting championships, eventually moving up to the Ontario Formula Ford Championship and the Quebec Formula Tour 1600. After winning both series, St. Laurent made the decision to move to Europe in order to further his career.

F1RDS/AutoReject 2.0

With no shortage of talented drivers in the competitive European motorsport setting, St. Laurent found himself struggling to find a drive. Placing an ad in the classifieds section of a small Cambridgeshire newspaper for his services, the Canadian expected to be offered a seat in a second-rate touring car series at best, or even forced back to karts should the worst come to pass. Much to his surprise, the Canadian suddenly found himself in the cockpit of a Plus One Reject Development Series car, serving as a replacement for the disappointing Jack Connolly.

2016

St. Laurent qualified in sixth place and finished eighth on his debut at the French round of the RDS, scoring three points on his debut. His performances soon tapered off, however, as his inexperience soon showed with various struggles with car set-up and consistency. Nevertheless, despite being convincingly beaten by his more experienced team-mate, Daniela Anger, St. Laurent still managed to impress observers with a fourth place at Oulton Park, and a sixth place at the series finale at Fuji Speedway.

In post-season testing, St. Laurent set a time six tenths off the pace on Day One, before topping the timesheets for both sessions on Day Two.

2017

St. Laurent remains with Plus One Racing Engineering for 2017, with the Rejects Development Series now under the new banner of AutoReject 2.0.
