Jayleen Mori is not related to Barii Mori

Jayleen Mori (born 8th July, 1990 in Pingelap, Pohnpei State) is a Micronesian racing driver, his famous father Alik was also a racing driver.

Career

Early career

Mori was originally attracted to racing after seeing the 1997 Japanese Grand Prix. He then began karting at the age of 8, and after winning the Toyota SL All Japan Tournament Cadet Class twice, he moved to Asian Formula Renault Challenge in 2008, winning the title in his first season. He spent the next seven seasons in Super GT, winning the title in 2010, 2013 and 2015 before deciding to move to RWRS.

2016

GT-R

Jayleen signed for Kun Engineering to drive their Ferrari 575 GTC in the GT-Rejects World Championship, his co-driver was John Bovy.

RejecTrucks

Jayleen also agreed to do a part time season in the Rejectrucks Super Series, driving for The Crusaders. He was forced to miss rounds 5, 6 and 8 due to clashing dates with GT-R. The pre-season test did not go well for him as he was 18th, the position he would qualify for the first round in Adelaide. Unfortunately his debut didn't even last a single lap as he crashed out in an accident with Lance Brown and Sandra Cessler. He would make up for this with a very strong run in Mexico where he qualified 3rd and led a few laps at the start, after pitstops he finished 2nd.

F3RWRS

Mori made a brief return to open-wheel racing when he agreed to drive for Kamaha in the Formula 3 Rejects World Race Series as a replacement for the injured Hwok Kwol-Cho in Italy.
