Elzie Wylie "Buck" Baker Sr. (born 4 March 1919 in Richburg, died 14 April 2002 in Charlotte) was an American racing driver. Baker was a mainstay of NASCAR for 25 years, winning 46 Grand National races and the championship title in 1956 and 1957. Just prior to Baker's peak success, he was persuaded to compete in a Formula 1 race by the organisers of the 1955 Singapore Grand Prix. Baker proved remarkably competitive considering his uncompetitive machinery and little experience in single seaters, but narrowly failed to qualify. He did not return to the category.
