Linden made his AAA and F1 début at Indianapolis in 1950, but failed to finish. He would eventually start 67 races, scoring four podiums. Despite his modest results, he managed to finish fifth in the championship in 1955 following his sixth place rsult at Indianapolis as well as seven other top-ten finishes, including a third place at Springfield.
His career ended in 1957, when a crash saw a piece of his helmet break into his skull paralysing Linden.
