Adolfo Moretti (born January 22, 1984 in Vatican City) is a racing driver from San Marino.

Career

Early years

Moretti began karting aged 10, winning the Karting World Championship in 1998 and the Junior Monaco Kart Cup in 1999. He started car racing in 2000 in the British Formula Ford championship, winning the title in 2002. He then moved to Formula Renault 2.0 UK in 2003, winning it in 2004 with stronger results than Lewis Hamilton the year before, something that Moretti often brags about to this day.

ChampCar/NASCAR

After an unsuccessful season in GP2, Moretti moved to the ChampCar World Series in 2006 with Rocketsports Racing, finishing 8th in points with a win at San Jose but many retirements. He finished 2007 in 10th.

Moretti then accepted an offer from Phoenix Racing to race in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, a seat he would remain in until 2013, whilst very strong on road course circuits, winning at Sonoma in almost every year he competed, he initially stuggled on ovals though he would improve with time, eventually winning the Coca-Cola 600 in 2013.

Unfortunately Phoenix Racing shut down after 2013. With no other seats availiable, Moretti returned to the UK to race in the Renault Clio Cup UK, winning the title in 2 consecutive years, he wouldn't defend his 2016 title as he moved to RWRS.

2016

Lupo Cup

Moretti signed for The Crusaders. The pre-season tests looked promising, with 11th and 3rd.
