The 2011 F1RWRS Dutch Grand Prix was the ninth race of the 2011 Formula 1 Rejects World Race Series season. It was held at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands. The race was won by Gary Cameron driving for Team Calinetic.

Race Report

Qualifying

Pre-qualifying was a hotly contested affair as Mori, Ashley Watkinson, the two ArrowTech drivers, Shizuka, Luca Pacchiarini and Douglas Mann all failed to qualify. In qualifying, Nathanael Spencer took pole by a tenth of a second over upstart Phoenix McAllister. Championship leader Daniel Melrose could only manage ninth after a slow qualifying lap.

Race

The start saw Gary Cameron blast into the lead after starting third but Spencer retook first by the end of the lap. Cameron would retake the spot on Lap 2 and Spencer would fall back after getting sideways on Lap 3. Meanwhile, McAllister fell to eighth place by the end of Lap 3, wasting his excellent qualifying performance. David Koczo then took the lead on Lap 5 with Cameron, Sammy Jones, Spencer and John Zimmer all following.

Melrose began taking the fight to the top five, passing Dagnall, Spencer, Zimmer and Jones. Other than that, the race appeared to settle down between Laps 6-10. John Zimmer became the first driver to stop on Lap 7. In between Laps 7-11, Melrose, Kay Lon and Cameron also pitted. By Lap 15, the field had bunched up into an enormous pack with David Koczo leading followed by Spencer in second. Spencer took the lead on Lap 16 after Koczo made a big mistake which dropped him to sixth. The Prospecs and RubberTex-Joneses held positions 1-4, respectively but Spencer would lose the lead after nearly binning it on Lap 18 and Sammy Jones suffered a botched pit stop which dropped him down the order.

Chris Dagnall stole the lead from Koczo after Lap 19 but Melrose began to catch the aged Scunthorpe star. Melrose made the move on Lap 20 but then reported a large vibration coming from his front suspension. Melrose was forced to pit to repair his car on Lap 25, letting through an ecstatic Gary Cameron. Cameron would hold the lead and win the race with Kay Lon second and T. Hemo Goblin third. It was Gary Cameron's first F1RWRS win (despite the fact that he had won the championship in 2010) and Kay Lon's first podium. Melrose reemerged in fourth place after his late stop with Darren Older Jr. and Sammy Jones behind him. Melrose increased his lead over Spencer to twelve points.
