Antonio Giovinazzi (born 14th December, 1993 in Martina Franca, Italy) is an Italian racing driver currently driving for Ebro Foods Dawson GP.

Early Career

After an impressive karting career between 2000 and 2011, during which he became Italian and European champion in his class, Giovinazzi began racing single seaters. Giovinazzi's first triumph came in the Chinese Formula Masters series in 2012 - which he used to springboard into European F3 series - culminating in a Zandvoort Masters win in 2015 and the title of vice-champion in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. He proceeded to finish third in the 2015-16 Asian Le Mans Series, teaming up with Sean Gelael. Giovinazzi went stateside shortly after - reaching as high as the Indy Lights series in 2019.

Formula 2

In 2020, Giovinazzi was picked up by the Aspire Formula team to run in the series alongside Sophia Floersch. Giovinazzi's switch to the category paid off with two wins in the opening round at Brazil. Later during the season, he added a win at one of the stranger Formula 2 events: he won the first race at the Okayama International Circuit, where F2 was surprisingly the main event. Heading into the final weekends of the season, Giovinazzi had a six-point championship lead. A double retirement in the second Abu Dhabi race and the season finale in Shanghai saw him finished the season in second overall, behind Roger Ibe

Formula 1

Giovinazzi's impressive form saw him receive an offer to test with Red Bull at their late season test session - however a protest from regular driver Daniel Melrose saw the offer be rescinded. Still, his runner-up spot in Formula 2 made him attractive to a number of teams.

2021: Dawson

Eventually, he would sign on to Dawson GP. The struggling British team proved uncompetitive. Giovinazzi proved a reliable driver, scoring two twelfth places at the Cyprus and French Grands Prix. Despite this, he was released from his contract at the end of the season.
