Alexey Pchelintsev (born October 16, 1982 in Almaty, Kazakhstan) is a Kazakh racing driver. He competed in the F1RWRS for two races with the Mitie Aviation Racing team, becoming the first driver from Kazakhstan to compete in the series. Unfortunately, he was dropped by the team after two races in favor of pay-driver Steven Mackintosh. As of yet, Pchelintsev has not returned to the F1RWRS and he is no longer affiliated with the Mitie (now Kingfisher) outfit.

Early Career

Alexey Pchelintsev was born to a wealthy Kazakh family in the city of Almaty (then Alma-Ata), the largest city in Kazakhstan. Pchelintsev lived in Kazakhstan until 1991 when his family emigrated to Japan for business reasons. Alexey's father, a financial advisor, had no interest in motor racing but Alexey was fascinated by motor racing. Pchelintsev joined the Japanese karting circuit at age thirteen. Pchelintsev did quite well in the lower feeder categories in Japan and he was signed on to the Team Nakajima squad, run by Satoru Nakajima. Nakajima's conncetions gave Pchelintsev, who won three races in his first season in Formula 3, a spot on the Honda Young Drivers' Program by 2001. In 2003, Pchelintsev was given a drive in Formula Nippon, but he was met with little success. In 2004 and 2005, he raced in Super GT without much fanfare; he left with only a career-best sixth place to show for it. From 2007 to 2013, competed in various racing series (including the GT1 championship, Superleague Formula, and Japanese Formula 3) with varying amounts of success.

Personal Life

Alexey lives in Kyoto, where he lives with his wife and child.
