George Edgar Abecassis DFC (born 21 March 1913 in Oatlands, died 18 December 1991 in Ibstone) was a British racing driver, and co-founder of HWM. He only competed in one championship event, the 1950 French Grand Prix, driving his own Alta. HWM became a popular Formula 2 manufacturer, but rarely appeared in Formula One, aside from the 1952 Australian Grand Prix for Ecurie Australie.
