Jones 114
The Jones 114 was an ARWS racing car designed and manufactured by the Jones Racing Group and used by the National Jones Ford Team team for the 2018 ARWS season. The car was the first Jones design in the rebranded series, which was formerly known as F1RWRS.
The car was driven by Mark Dagnall and Diego Álvarez Torrente, however team boss Sammy Jones replaced Dagnall at the New South Wales GP, following the latter's one race ban handed out at the previous race at Adelaide for causing a dangerous accident.
Differing from the Jones 109 in a number of areas, the 114 featured a distinctive low airbox behind the driver's helmet, designed to maximise airflow to a revised rear wing which included new additional winglets either side of the main structure. Also new was the Ford engine, the Zetec XR8D model. Prior to the season, reports emerged that it was significantly down on power compared to rival units from Renault and BMW and was so unattractive, only the Jones team campaigned it during the 2018 season. Whilst down on power at the fastest circuits on the calendar, it still showed competitiveness, with Dagnall taking joint-fastest lap at Monza in a performance that his boss Sammy Jones likened to "driving with his balls on fire".
