Matthew Neal (born 20th December, 1966 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire) is a British racing driver best known for his career in touring car racing.
Career
After a few years in the British Group N series, Neal made his World Touring Car Masters debut in 1991 driving a BMW M3 for the Pyramid Motorsport team in the two British rounds of the championship.
In 1992, Pyramid opted to run a new 1992-spec Toyota Carina for the entirety of the season - with Neal taking in six rounds of the championship. At the season opening weekend at Symmons Plains Raceway in Australia, Neal won the sprint race outright - his first win in the series.
Personal Life
Neal is the son of Steve Neal, who was a successful saloon car racer in the 1960s and 1970s and eventually set up Team Dynamics - where Matt Neal is a co-owner. Matt Neal's two sons; Henry and William are also racing drivers.
At 6 foot 6, Neal is virtually unable to race single-seaters.
Neal is the Group Marketing Director at alloy wheel manufacturer Rimstock.
