Clara Jeanne Descoteaux (born 1 January 2004 in Quebec City, Canada) is a Canadian racing driver, and the younger sister of Cesaire Descoteaux. She is currently driving for Union Saver Developments in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 European Championship season. Since 2024, both Descoteaux siblings are members of the Peak Motorsport Group.

Early life

Descoteaux was the daughter of a Bloc Quebecois MPP and a former snowmobile racer, and the younger sister of Cesaire. When she turned 11, she started competing in snowmobile racing, winning several races. Aspiring to race cars, she began to race karts instead, notably taking a podium at a Toronto Super Kart event.

2018 season

She then took a trip to Britain, in the hope of convincing a team in the newly formed Anglo-Irish F4 series to take her. This was a tough ask, considering that she was just fourteen years old. Raikkonen-Robertson Racing took a gamble on her. Descoteaux's first season wasn't amazing, placing 20th with only 12 points inconsistently gathered across the year. However, she showed flashes of potential at the first race at Silverstone; after a superb qualifying, she took advantage of her expertise with high-speed layouts, reaching second place and staying there until her engine failed with only a lap to go.

2019 season

Descoteaux displayed improvement in the following year, taking her first podium at the 2019 Rochester trophy and her first pole at the 2019 F4 British Grand Prix. However, she was still inconsistent, finishing fourteen out of twenty races outside the points.

2020 season

Descoteaux stayed with Raikkonen-Robertson Racing as it transformed into West Racing Formula for 2020.

2022 season

Descoteaux stepped up to Formula 3 in 2022, joining Union Saver Developments as second driver to established team leader Michela Martin.
