Driver and Team Changes
Williams remained with Mercedes as their deal doesn't end until 2025.
Following a disappointing 2023 with Racing Point, Toyota abandoned their sponsorship with the Canadian team, following this Canadian fuel brand Canadian Tire signed a 2 year deal with Racing Point giving the team a small loan package in the process.
Media speculation suggested that this was the final season Shane Wray would have at Red Bull due to him being unhappy at the team, Shane resigned with the team for this season however his future at the team and even in Formula 1 remain uncertain however due to his open contract status it is possible offers could come from anywhere. Red Bull also resigned Sebastian Vettel as they believe the duo can do better however due to contract issues this was only for the second half of the season, the seat for the first half of the season was given to 6 time MotoGP Champion Marc Marquez who Red Bull had been keen to sign to see how well a MotoGP rider could do in other racing sports, Marquez took part in a month long intense training regime to prepare.
Alpha Tauri signed Esteban Ocon who was released from the Renault team at the end of 2023, Daniel Ricciardo also left the Renault team that same year but didn't find a seat in F1 for this season. Renault changed their line up with McLaren test driver Lando Norris and IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden entering the team. Alpha Tauri however would not keep Ocon as Lewis Hamilton left Mercedes so Ocon was put into the Mercedes team instead.
Several drivers switched teams this season.
