The Detroit Grand Prix was a race on the Formula One calendar.
The race gained a reputation for being incredibly demanding and gruelling, with the very bumpy track often breaking up badly under the consistently hot and very humid weather; it was perhaps the single hardest race on car and driver in Formula One during the 1980s.
Formula One racing returned to the streets of Detroit in 2010 at the (unrelated) Detroit Belle Isle Raceway.
