A promising sportscar and open-wheel driver in the early 1950s, his World Championsip F1 outings were limited to a single race, the 1954 Italian Grand Prix, failing to qualify. Following an accident in early 1955 in which he lost a leg, he became a sports administrator in his native Italy.
