Formula One
Surtees made his Formula One debut in 1958 with the B.C.M.A. team. Surtees' first entry was at the Monaco Grand Prix, but he'd fail to qualify for the race. His first start came one race later in France, a race in which he unexpectedly took the chequered flag. Surtees eventually finished the 1958 season in fifth place.
