Tazio Nuvolari (born 16 November 1892 in Mouzon, died 11 August 1953 in Mantua) was an Italian racing driver who competed in Formula 1 in 1950. Widely considered one of the best racing drivers of all time, Nuvolari was immensely successful in both motorcycles and automobiles in the 1920s and 1930s, winning multiple championships. Following World War II, Nuvolari resumed racing in a reduced capacity and with failing health. Close to retirement, he briefly competed in the inaugural Formula One season for Lancia finishing in fifth place at the 1950 Italian Grand Prix, his final motor race, at the record age of 57. He died three years later.
