Silvio Bachot (born 25th December 1952 in Metz, Grand Est, France) is a French former racing driver who competed under a Belgian licence best known for his appearances in Formula One. After 2 seperate European Formula Two stints (in 1970-1972 and in 1976-1977), in which he gained a reputation for being an excellent qualifier and a very aggressive driver, although he had tendencies to randomly alternate his pace in races and for having large accidents, he was initially signed by the financially troubled Shadow Racing Team for an F1 seat in 1978, with him also driving for North Star Racing at the Belgian Grand Prix, where Shadow were not participating and North Star's existing driver Anton Roche was already contracted to Ligier for that race.
