He runs the sponsorship of Kentucky Fried Chicken, his father being the owner of the brand's Indonesian franchise. As a result his cars tend to have the brand's slogan "Jagonya Ayam!" ("Chicken Experts!") displayed.
Mainly known for driving GT cars, Gelael currently races in Super Formula, driving for Team KCMG for the 2020 season.
